Padova Congress hosted the 81st National Congress of the Italian Society of Pediatrics (SIP), Italy’s leading scientific event dedicated to the health and well-being of children and adolescents. The congress brought together more than one thousand specialists in Padua, including hospital pediatricians, university researchers, family pediatricians, residents, and professionals working in maternal and child healthcare.
The choice of Padua as the host city was far from incidental. With its long-standing academic tradition and its prominent role within the medical and scientific community, the city once again proved to be the ideal setting for a congress focused on the latest frontiers of pediatric and adolescent medicine. This connection was further strengthened by the involvement and contribution of the teams from Salus Pueri Children’s Hospital, alongside the participation of Padua’s leading pediatric experts in the local organization of the event.
The congress featured a comprehensive and multidisciplinary program addressing key topics such as the first 1,000 days of life, nutrition, the role of breast milk, healthy lifestyles, and eating disorders during childhood and adolescence. Significant attention was also devoted to therapeutic innovation, from CAR-T therapies and new biological treatments to early screening programs and advances in the prevention and management of complex pediatric conditions.
Alongside clinical insights, the congress explored the emerging challenges facing children and adolescents today. Topics ranged from the impact of digital technologies and behavioral disorders to the increasing prevalence of myopia and food allergies, as well as psychological vulnerabilities and eating disorders, all of which are receiving growing attention within the pediatric community.
Among the most noteworthy moments was the keynote lecture delivered by Don Renzo Pegoraro, who emphasized the ethical and human value of care, particularly for the most vulnerable individuals. The program also featured sessions promoting a global vision of pediatrics—one that integrates research, prevention, education, and social responsibility.
For Padova Congress, hosting an event of this caliber further reinforces its position as a leading venue for major medical and scientific congresses and as a place where research meets the future of healthcare. An event that, while rooted in Padua, looked far beyond its borders—because investing in children’s health means investing in the future of us all.
