ERUS 2026, the international robotic surgery congress chaired by Professors Fabrizio Dal Moro and Alberto Breda, which concluded on Friday, 11 September, featured an experience of exceptional significance in the field of live surgery: seven telesurgery sessions, with surgeons operating remotely from Padova Congress on patients in operating theatres around the world, from China to the Canary Islands and Poland.
This was one of the first telesurgery experiences worldwide to take place in a congress setting, providing a tangible demonstration of the new possibilities offered by remote robotic surgery.
The procedures were completed successfully, thanks in part to Padova Congress’s advanced technological infrastructure and high-performance connectivity, supported by a dedicated technical plan designed to ensure service continuity and minimise the risk of disruption.
The telesurgery sessions were complemented by more than 50 procedures broadcast live, making the event one of exceptional scientific and technological value. Given the significance of its content and the innovations introduced, ERUS 2026 represents an important milestone in the evolution of medical congresses.
