Jul 17, 2026

Padova Congress hosted the 55th AIDP National Congress, entitled “The Courage of Skills”, a key event for the human resources management community in Italy. The event brought together more than 1,000 HR professionals in Padua to discuss the challenges of continuous learning, technological innovation and human capital development.

At the heart of the congress was the value of skills as a strategic infrastructure in a landscape shaped by artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The program explored topics including lifelong learning, the management of power dynamics within organizations, critical thinking as a driver of value, socio-demographic change, and the relationship between work and younger generations.

Data from the AIDP Research Centre, based on a sample of 495 Italian companies, confirmed the growing focus on training. More than 90% of organizations provide non-mandatory technical and professional training, while 62% invest in soft skills such as communication, negotiation and problem-solving. In terms of delivery methods, 63% of companies have used e-learning and distance learning, while 39% are planning upskilling and reskilling programs to support employees affected by the introduction of new technologies.

Alongside the scientific program, the congress achieved ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management, with the support of TÜV NORD Italia and RIGHT HUB Srl Società Benefit. The certification process included measures to reduce environmental impact, eliminate food waste in collaboration with Food for Good, and generate a positive impact on the host community.

For Padova Congress, hosting the AIDP Congress reaffirmed its role as a leading venue for major national events capable of combining scientific exchange, attention to social change and environmental responsibility.
