Held in Italy for the first time, the conference brought together more than <strong>200 experts from 27 countries<\/strong> in Padua, with delegations from Europe, China, India and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by the <strong>European Ceramic Society<\/strong> and the <strong>Italian Ceramic Society<\/strong>, with the support of the University of Padua, Shaping 10 offered three days of scientific discussion on the latest developments in the processing of ceramics and ceramic-matrix composites.<\/p>\n<p>The programme focused on the applications and technologies that are making these materials increasingly important to innovation-driven sectors, from aerospace and biomedical engineering to automotive and defence. Particular attention was given to additive manufacturing, rapid sintering systems and methods for producing ceramics with advanced properties and performance.<\/p>\n<p>Key presentations included a talk by <strong>Eduardo Saiz<\/strong> of Imperial College London on additive manufacturing and microstructural manipulation of ceramics, and one by <strong>Shiwei Wang<\/strong> of the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on the modelling and sintering of transparent ceramics.<\/p>\n<p>The conference was preceded by a <strong>Summer School<\/strong> that brought together <strong>50 international doctoral students<\/strong> to explore precursors for ceramic materials and their applications, further strengthening the event\u2019s educational value.<\/p>\n<p>By hosting Shaping 10, Padova Congress welcomed a high-profile international event that brought together scientific expertise, education and industrial development, reaffirming Padua\u2019s role as a meeting place for innovation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 10th Shaping Conference, an international event dedicated to advanced ceramic materials and shaping processes, has concluded at Padova Congress.
